Individuality by Design: How Being a Triplet Shaped My Creative Perspective.

Growing up, I was always one of three — the eldest of identical triplet boys: Brad, Brandon, and Brian. From the outside, we were a perfect match. Same face. Same age. Same everything, it seemed.

People rarely took a second look before assuming I was one of my brothers. Teachers, neighbors—even extended family—often mixed us up. We were a set. A trio. Always introduced together.

For a long time, I wasn't just Brian.
I was one of the triplets.

And while I love my brothers deeply, there was a part of me that longed to be recognized for who I was — the things that made me me.

🌱 The First Spark of Individuality

Somewhere along the way, I felt a conviction growing inside:

“A space can be a voice — a way to feel seen.
We may look alike, but we are not the same.”

Even as kids, when our bedrooms looked similar or our toys matched, I searched for ways to personalize my world. A poster arranged just so—a different color choice when I could get away with it.

Those small acts of self-expression helped me understand something powerful — our spaces shape how we see ourselves.

And that belief eventually led me to interior design.
