Why Great Interior Designers Don’t Have Just One Style

Beginning my career with Barefoot Cottage, I worked within a strong classic style. That experience gave me a deep respect for proportion, balance, and architectural integrity — but it also taught me something equally important: no single look can serve every client well.

I’ve seen firsthand that two people can love the same aesthetic and still need completely different solutions. That’s why I study how each household moves, rests, and functions day to day.

Real life should always lead the design — not the other way around.

Great interior designers don’t begin with a signature look — and I never have. I begin with how my clients actually live.

This custom dog nook above is a perfect example.

I wasn’t interested in adding something decorative just to fill a corner. My goal was to intentionally carve out a moment that supports the rhythm of this home while still feeling fully integrated into the overall design.

Because the best spaces don’t just look considered — they live well, too.

I want every home I design to feel:

Personal
Intentional
Layered with meaning
And unmistakably reflective of the person who lives there

Guided by my experience…

Refined through thoughtful decisions…

And always designed to live beautifully.

✨ STEP INTO MY WORLD OF DESIGN

When I stepped out to build my own design studio, my perspective naturally expanded. While my core style will always have a clear point of view, I’ve never believed great design should feel one-note. Every project is an opportunity for me to listen closely, observe carefully, and translate real life into spaces that truly work — something I’ve come to genuinely enjoy as I embrace the wide range of tastes my clients bring to the table.
